What is Wrong with Me!?

Ok, I did measurements this morning and have become super frustrated.  Since summer has started I have been working out AT LEAST three days a week (usually 6) and have started doing more strength training with heavier weights still pretty high reps (10-12).  I even have been paying a personal trainer(virtual) and she has been having me do circuit style training with cardio three days a week and HIIT sprints and incline workouts.  I measured today and since the beginning of the summer I have successfully put on five pounds.  I know that weight isn’t what you are supposed to focus on so I have been doing measurements.  I have gained an inch and 1/2 in my thighs and an inch in my waist.  What gives? I eat clean except for on the weekends sometimes and eat 5-6 small meals a day.  I am so frustrated!!! If anyone has any advice that’d be great.

  1. Welcome unfortunately to my world. As a thousand people have said to me a thousand times muscle weights more that fat. I have found that some of it is that when I’m exercising that much I’m not eating enough. Your body thinks its starving so it won’t let lose of the fat. Especially in the summer when it’s to hot to eat, you have to make sure you are eating enough.
    I get so frustrated I can’t get below that special number but I stopped focusing on my weight and focusing on just training and watching what I eat the rest will come.

    • I eat ALL the time Darla! My trainer has me eating every 2-3hrs. Including 4-6oz. Of protein, servings of fats, and lots of veggies. I’ve not been so much worried about the scale but everyone says that you’ll lose inches and clothes will fit better and all of mine are fitting tighter! My thighs now successfully rub together so much it bothers me where it didn’t before. I don’t understand I have a degree in exercise science, I feel like I should if anybody, be able to figure this out! Ughh

      • God is having you go through this so that you can be able to help more people out. You have a Godly heart and he wants you to be able to help so many people (like me). We learn so much more in frustration than things going like they should. Which I know you know all this but I’m just trying to help. When you find the answer please share. I need all the help I can get. 🙂
