What is Wrong with Me!?

Ok, I did measurements this morning and have become super frustrated.  Since summer has started I have been working out AT LEAST three days a week (usually 6) and have started doing more strength training with heavier weights still pretty high reps (10-12).  I even have been paying a personal trainer(virtual) and she has been having me do circuit style training with cardio three days a week and HIIT sprints and incline workouts.  I measured today and since the beginning of the summer I have successfully put on five pounds.  I know that weight isn’t what you are supposed to focus on so I have been doing measurements.  I have gained an inch and 1/2 in my thighs and an inch in my waist.  What gives? I eat clean except for on the weekends sometimes and eat 5-6 small meals a day.  I am so frustrated!!! If anyone has any advice that’d be great.

Another good day!

Today was an awesome day overall. I got to awesome workouts in: full body cardio circuits and hot yoga! My body is definitely feeling it, but I’m going to push through because guess what’s tomorrow at 9am? Hot yoga again. For today’s nutritional side these were my meals:

Meal 1: two egg spinach, mushroom, feta omelet with a little organic salsa, little yogurt with blueberries

Meal 2: roasted red pepper hummus with sliced green peppers, ants on a log:)) with celery, PB2 and raisins

Meal 3: post workout shake- About time mocha mint (highly recommend this protein it is the best, 100cals per 25g of protein and only has four ingredients:) ) combined with a cup of unsweetened almond milk
-1/2 a sweet potato with cinnamon

Meal four: cottage cheese with a handful of blueberries

Meal five: another PWO shake bc of hot yoga. About time cinnamon swirl with 1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk
* This was part of my dinner
-1/2 cup cottage cheese
-zucchini soaked in balsamic vinegar
– handful of walnuts
– arugula and kale salad with cucumber and balsamic vinegar

Tonight’s dinner:
Taco salad:
Ingredients: ground turkey meat, tomatoes, green pepper, banana peppers, 1/2 avocado, arugula and kale, organic salsa, dalop of light sour cream, and five organic purple corn chips

Bowl of fresh zucchini soaked in balsamic vinegar

– this was so delicious!!

Workout: upper body and cardio at the gym and then an hour and half hot yoga right after… This was killer!

How to make healthy decisions when no one else is……..

Eating healthy is not usually what I struggle with.  I actually enjoy finding and making healthy new dishes and prefer healthier options.  What I struggle with is keeping that healthy mentality when you are in an environment where there is pressure by other people to engage in bad eating habits.  It may not be something that is said verbally or directly to you, but when everyone is engaging in eating something unhealthy it is very easy to stray from your ways when you want to fit in with the crowd and socialize.  I have been trying for years to fix this problem and it has definitely been a challenge.  I have managed to get a hold on it for the most part but I still slip from time to time.  My new strategy is going to be to start bringing my own healthy dishes in an attempt to A) give me a healthy option and B) hope that some of my family end up liking my dish and wanting to eat it instead!  For the 4th of July I am planning on making some banana chocolate chip muffins for breakfast, a couple dessert options, and some appetizer dips like hummus and veggies, guacamole, and fresh salsa.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what they do in these types of situations?
